Long past the last traffic light, and past the roadside waterfall,
you'll enter the Hanalei River valley. After the beautiful lookout
of Bali Hai and Hanalei Bay, you'll pass over the one-way bridge
that was built in 1912. With the Hanalei River on your right and

you'll enter the quaint town of Hanalei.
The Hanalei Center is a mixture of old buildings that have been
brought together to form the best shopping center on the island.
The old school house has been converted into different shops, and
an old Taro farmer's building has been made into Hawaii's Java Kai.
The smell of just baked bagels and a fresh pot of coffee with
draw you to a quaint building that was constructed in the 1920s.
A full espresso bar, fresh baked goods, and a wonderful selection
of breakfast items await you. For breakfast try a Kauai Waffle,
or a Breakfast Burrito.
For a treat try an Aloha Bar, the house specialty. With toasted
coconut, macadamia nuts and chocolate chips on a shortbread cookie
crust, your mouth will be in paradise.
